The Role
We are seeking an accomplished and values-driven clinician to join us as Head of Clinical & Care Governance. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, ACS, this is a career-defining opportunity to lead meaningful change by strengthening and embedding an established Clinical & Care Governance Framework, ensuring it is consistently applied and continuously improved across all services, while driving excellence in safety, quality, and risk management.
The role is also pivotal in supporting the leadership team to deliver Anglicare’s strategic priorities, aligning care delivery with a rights-based approach and the expectations of older Australians, and directly influencing improved clinical outcomes, stronger governance, and the overall lived experience of care for the people we serve.
Your role in supporting Anglicare will include:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organisation's clinical governance framework with a focus on risk management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to the Aged Care Quality Standards, Aged Care Act and all other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Oversee clinical policies clinical care policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure consistency, compliance and best practice.
- Foster a culture of safety, clinical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement in clinical services, ensuring alignment with organisational values and goals.
- Lead organisation‑wide incident management, ensuring timely reporting, effective investigation and translation learnings into practice improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) requirements and other regulatory requirements
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage organisational responses to compliance requirements.
About you
You are a senior clinical leader with deep expertise in governance, quality, and risk, with significant experience in aged care and in a senior clinical governance role. You have a proven track record of driving system-wide improvement, embedding accountability, strengthening frameworks, and delivering measurable outcomes aligned to strategic priorities and rights-based care. You lead with integrity and influence, and are resilient, decisive, and purpose-driven—focused on elevating safety, quality, and the experience of care at scale.
What you will bring to the role:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- The ability to meet the requirements of a Responsible Person Check for the purposes of the Aged Care Act (2024)
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or medical
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Postgraduate qualification in Quality, Risk Management, Governance, or related field (desirable)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Senior management experience in clinical and/or care governance and quality improvement within the healthcare or human services sector
- Demonstrated success in leading quality assurance and accreditation programs that achieve sustainable compliance and continuous improvement outcomes in complex service environments.
- Strong working knowledge of clinical and care governance frameworks, relevant legislation and policy, and the ability to lead organisational responses to sector and government reform.
- Proven ability to analyse risk, performance, and quality issues across multidisciplinary services and implement effective, system-wide solutions.
