Get to know Altius
Altius was founded in 2001 with a simple aspiration; to drive new heights of workplace health and wellbeing. Since then, we've built a track record of expertise and positive impact in four critical service areas - PeopleSense Psychology & Wellbeing, Rehabilitation Services, Executive Health Solutions, and Workplace Health & Safety - that span the workplace wellbeing spectrum - still driven by a single goal: to elevate the wellbeing of people, workplaces and communities across Australia.
We have a newly created opportunity for a P&C Advisor to join our People & Culture function, supporting our Nabenet, IIME and Ontime Healthcare business units.
Requirements
About the Role
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants genuine breadth of experience across the employee lifecycle. You'll be the first point of contact for day-to-day people matters, provide reliable administration and coordination support, and work closely with a Head of People and Operations who can help you grow your P&C expertise.
You won't be managing people or leading complex ER cases in this role — that's not what this position is. What you will get is hands-on exposure to onboarding, offboarding, HR systems, recruitment coordination, reporting, and policy support, with a clear escalation pathway to senior team members when things get complicated. It's a solid foundation role for someone building toward a broader generalist or advisory career in P&C.
What You'll Be Doing
-
Coordinating end-to-end employee lifecycle processes — onboarding, offboarding, employment changes and record management
-
Maintaining accurate HR systems, employee data, leave records and payroll-related information
-
Preparing people reports, workforce metrics and compliance reporting
-
Supporting recruitment administration, including job postings, interview coordination and candidate communication
-
Acting as a first point of contact for employees and managers on P&C policies and processes
-
Assisting with employment contracts, letters and correspondence
-
Supporting performance management, probation, leave and flexible working processes
-
Contributing to culture initiatives, internal events and continuous improvement projects
What We're Looking For
-
Foundational knowledge of HR/P&C practices, ideally with some exposure to Australian employment legislation
-
Strong administrative and organisational skills with genuine attention to detail
-
Confident written and verbal communication
-
Comfortable managing competing priorities and deadlines
-
Trustworthy with confidential information
-
Familiarity with HRIS, payroll systems and Microsoft Office
-
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to learn
Location and Flexibility
This is an on-site role based in our Hawthorn office, with limited scope for remote work, we're looking for someone who's comfortable being in the office as part of a hands-on, collaborative team.
That said, we know flexibility matters. We're genuinely open to flexible work patterns, including adjusted start/finish times, compressed working weeks or shorter days — making this a great option for a working parent, someone balancing study, or anyone who needs a bit of flex around the edges of their week.
Benefits
What You'll Get
-
Broad, hands-on exposure across the full employee lifecycle
-
Support and mentoring from an experienced P&C leadership team
-
The chance to shape a newly created role within a growing team
-
A collaborative, values-driven workplace culture
