The Opportunity
Carey Baptist College is seeking a passionate Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join our Harrisdale Campus from 1 January 2027.
This position is available on a part-time basis between 0.6 and 1.0 FTE, with the teaching load shaped around the successful applicant's experience and expertise.
Mathematics is one of the most powerful tools students can develop. Beyond formulas and calculations, it equips young people with the confidence to think logically, solve problems, recognise patterns and make informed decisions. We're looking for a teacher who can help students see mathematics not as something to fear, but as a subject that opens doors and builds confidence.
Whether your passion lies in lower secondary foundations, senior pathways, or extension mathematics, you'll be joining a collaborative department committed to helping every student achieve their personal best.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Mathematics Teacher, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-structured Mathematics lessons that challenge, support and inspire students.
•
Create learning experiences that encourage curiosity, resilience and confidence in problem solving.
•
Differentiate learning to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
•
Use assessment and data to monitor progress and provide meaningful feedback.
•
Foster a classroom culture where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes and persevere through challenges.
•
Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually strengthen curriculum, assessment and teaching practice.
•
Build positive relationships with students and families that support academic success and student wellbeing.
•
Contribute to the broader pastoral and co-curricular life of the College.

What You Will Bring

A committed Christian faith and a willingness to actively support the College's mission, Statement of Faith and values.
•
A recognised teaching qualification and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.

Demonstrated ability to teach Secondary Mathematics.
•
Strong mathematical knowledge and a commitment to delivering engaging, evidence-informed teaching.

The ability to build strong relationships while maintaining high expectations for student learning and behaviour.
•
A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to curriculum development and professional learning.
•
