Details: The Assistant Director, Spatial and Data Operations is responsible for the operational management and integrity of ACT Heritage data and information systems, with a strong focus on spatial data and GIS capability. The role leads the curation and maintenance of spatial information in GeoHub and provides technical support to ensure accurate, accessible and well‑governed data to support decision‑making and statutory processes.
The position plays a key role in strengthening data governance and improving the quality, consistency and usability of heritage information across the Branch. This includes coordinating spatial data activities, supporting compliance with information and records management requirements, and working collaboratively with internal teams to identify priorities and deliver efficient, practical outcomes. This includes coordinating ACT Government agency reporting obligations under the Heritage Act 2004, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent information is provided to inform statutory reporting and oversight.
Through strong stakeholder engagement and a focus on continuous improvement, the Assistant Director contributes to streamlined, transparent and customer‑focused services, supporting effective heritage conservation and decision‑making in line with the City and Environment Directorate’s objectives.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 27 July 2026 for a period of three months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only. Selection may be based on application only. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
