AAGM is seeking a reliable and experienced casual gardener to join our growing business, servicing residential and commercial properties across Canberra and Queanbeyan.
This is an ongoing casual position, with working days and hours to be arranged based on the successful applicant’s availability and business requirements. There may be an opportunity to progress into permanent part-time employment as the role develops.
The successful applicant will initially work alongside the business owner and receive training on our regular properties, equipment and expected work standards.
Applicants must have reliable transport and be able to make their own way to our base in Weston Creek to commence each working day.
Duties include
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Whipper snipping
- Operating a ride-on mower
- Hedge trimming and pruning
- Weeding and garden clean-ups
- Green waste removal
- General residential and commercial garden maintenance
We are looking for someone who
- Has gardening, grounds maintenance or landscaping experience
- Is reliable, punctual and respectful
- Can understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Can communicate clearly in English for job and safety requirements
- Is happy working alongside the business owner
- Will be confident working independently once properly trained
- Takes pride in completing work to a professional standard
- Treats business equipment, vehicles and client properties with care
- Holds a current Australian driver licence
- Has reliable transport to Weston Creek
- Has a positive attitude and can enjoy some workplace banter while remaining professional
Important future availability
Applicants must be available to work independently for approximately four weeks across March and April 2027, while the business owner is overseas.
During this period, the successful applicant will follow a prepared schedule and complete regular client jobs independently. Clear instructions, property information, equipment and support will be provided.
A performance bonus will be available where scheduled work is completed reliably, correctly and to the required business standard.
The successful applicant will work alongside the business owner beforehand to become familiar with the clients, properties, equipment and daily procedures.
