About the role
As a Stock Controller, you’ll support day-to-day inventory operations across depots and projects, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time. Based full-time at our Lara site, you’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to manage stock levels, respond to queries, coordinate replenishments and maintain accurate system records, playing a hands-on role in supporting critical maintenance and project activities.
Key accountabilities include:
- Manage inventory, warehousing and stock distribution activities.
- Monitor and analyse stock levels, including Min/Max settings.
- Coordinate cycle counts, audits and inventory accuracy processes.
- Investigate discrepancies and maintain inventory control standards.
- Raise pick lists and complete system transactions.
- Maintain accurate records for receipts, deliveries and purchasing.
- Respond to stakeholder queries on stock availability and item data.
- Support reporting and continuous improvement of inventory processes.
- Work with stakeholders to manage replenishment across depots.
About you
You’re someone who takes ownership, stays organised and follows through. You enjoy working independently, build strong working relationships and are confident navigating systems and data to get things done.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Experience in warehousing, logistics or a similar environment.
- Sound experience using JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP system.
- Strong capability in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced).
- Current forklift licence (essential).
- Ability to analyse data and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proactive, self‑motivated and able to manage competing priorities.
- Rail or maintenance environment experience (desirable).

This position offers an hourly rate of $41.53 plus 12% superannuation, along with 4 weeks of annual leave and 17.5% leave loading, in accordance with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administration Employees Agreement 2023.
The selection process may include aptitude assessments, video screening, a behavioural interview and a medical risk category 3 check.
