About the role at the Leaf Café & Co Macarthur:
- Preparing and cooking the dishes as per the menu, recipes and the dietary requirements of our customers
- Following recipes and cooking techniques to meet the restaurant standards
- Storing food with the correct temperature including excess food to avoid spoilage.
- Checking food while cooking to stir or turn and season to adjust taste
- Regulating and cooking in different kitchen equipment like grill, oven, pan and other cooking equipment
- While preparing food, ensure to meet the special dietary requirements
- Taking stock of ingredients and equipment
- Ensuring that food portions and food presentation meet restaurant standards
- Handling food with extreme care to ensure food is protected from the possibility of contamination
- Keeping safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen
- Training and mentoring kitchen staff and apprentices
The person we are looking for must have:
- At least Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Certificate IV in Kitchen Management
- At least 12 months of relevant work experience as a Cook/Chef
- Sound knowledge of cooking methods and techniques including various dietary requirements
- Ability to work in a team environment and experience in leading multi-cultural teams
- Have a strong track record during busy hours and in high volume event days with flawless management of Kitchen operations to expedite food delivery while ensuring standards are upheld
