The Opportunity
The Senior Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the delivery of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across Network Services & Victorian Transmission Planning. The role provides robust technical advice to VicGrid's Project Delivery and Planning teams to support legislative compliance and effective implementation of VicGrid's health and safety management system and project framework. The role is also responsible for monitoring delivery partner performance, supporting incident reviews, contributing to the delivery of VicGrid's assurance program, and promoting a positive safety culture across the project.

What you will deliver
- ; Provide specialist health and safety advice to Victorian Transmission Planning activities to ensure safety risks, constructability, operational interfaces and delivery constraints are identified and considered during the early planning, design and development phases of future transmission infrastructure projects.
- ; Support the Director, Safety Operations in delivery of high-quality health, safety and wellbeing coaching, advice and services, as well as support in the development of junior team members.
- ; Provide robust technical health and safety advice, project leaders and the wider organisation to effectively manage legislative requirements for VicGrid's delivery objectives.
- ; Implement elements of VicGrid's enterprise project framework (including the active client model), champion a positive health and safety culture and assist in the delivery of VicGrid's health and safety assurance program.
What you will bring
- ; Demonstrated expertise in contemporary health and safety legislation, risk-based frameworks, and industry best practice, ideally within major infrastructure or construction project delivery environments.
- ; Strong understanding of health and safety boundaries of influence, and the management of interfaces between parties undertaking work.
- ; Proven experience in health and safety systems, assurance activities, incident reviews, reporting, and continuous improvement, including the effective use of digital health and safety management systems to provide strategic and technical advice at senior levels.
- ; Experience in contractor management, including monitoring safety performance, leading health and safety forums, developing corrective actions and continuous improvement outcomes.
