The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially minded Merchandise Analyst to support category performance, reporting and decision-making across our retail network. Using sales, margin, product and supplier data, you will deliver actionable insights that support category planning, range reviews, promotional activity and commercial performance improvement across multiple brands.
You Will Provide:
- Analysis of category, product, supplier and store performance across sales, margin, volume and customer metrics.
- Commercial insights and reporting that support category reviews, range optimisation and business decision-making.
- Performance tracking and forecasting support for key commercial initiatives and priorities.
- Analysis to support product ranging, deletions, substitutions and supplier performance reviews.
- Accurate and timely reporting, dashboards and insight packs for stakeholders across the business.
- Recommendations that identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
- Support for the development of consistent reporting frameworks and analytics tools across the Merchandise function.
- Collaborative support to Category, Finance, Operations, Marketing and Commercial Planning teams through data-driven insights.

About You:
- Experience in an analyst, commercial, category, merchandise, finance or retail support role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, product and performance data.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using reporting or business intelligence tools.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately across large data sets.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and practical business recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience within retail, FMCG, convenience, QSR or multi-site environments will be highly regarded.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar analytics tools is desirable.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, finance, analytics or a related discipline are advantageous.
