Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Ensuring maximum equipment up-time is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Engaging in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines.
- The implementation of preventative maintenance.
- Responding to radio calls from Ops teams on urgent breakdown or repair works.
- Engaging in team safety initiatives, such as the TAKE 5 review
- Ensure appropriate safety tools are used when performing maintenance works (LOTO, TAKE 5)
- Reporting hazards and repairs to maintenance supervisors
- Conducts tests of mechanical systems, collects and analyses data, and assembles and installs mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
- Ensuring maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance
- Engaging in fabrication, installation and repair of mechanical machines, instruments or appliances
- Ensuring that all work is carried out to the Company and requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
- Utilising fault-finding to troubleshoot and rectify problems
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a strong drive for operational excellence.
You should have:
- More than 2 year working previous experience in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Previous experience within the meat industry advantageous
- Understand work planning and scheduling procedures.
- Sound knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics, as well as a basic knowledge of electrics and welding skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work
