We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to lead and strengthen our health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across Australia and New Zealand. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative safety professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, influencing positive safety behaviours and driving continuous improvement across a dynamic ANZ business.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and driving Mainmark's Health, Safety and Wellbeing framework across our national operations. This is a hands-on role where you'll partner closely with operational leaders to ensure our people go home safely every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations across Australia & New Zealand.
- Provide practical WHS advice and coaching to managers and employees.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Manage workers' compensation, rehabilitation and Return to Work programs.
- Oversee employee medical compliance and confidential health records.
- Drive continual improvement of our SafetyCulture platform and reporting systems.
- Lead ISO accreditation and surveillance audits.
- Develop, review and maintain WHS policies, procedures, SWMS and safety documentation.
- Coordinate emergency management planning and emergency response training.
- Deliver engaging safety training and promote a proactive safety culture.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure organisational compliance with WHS requirements.
About You
You're an experienced safety professional who enjoys building strong relationships and influencing positive safety outcomes.
You'll also bring:
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety as a minimum (tertiary qualifications in WHS, Safety or Environmental Management will be highly regarded).
- Demonstrated experience in a similar Health & Safety Advisor or WHS role.
- Sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand WHS legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing Workers' Compensation, Rehabilitation and Return to Work programs.
- Proven capability in incident investigations, risk assessments and internal auditing.
- Experience maintaining WHS management systems and ISO standards.
- Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Current White Card and unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
- Advanced First Aid qualifications (desirable).
- Flexibility to travel interstate and occasionally to New Zealand.
