Curtin University is seeking a customer-focused Scholarships Advisor to join our Student Services team in administering the Australian Government's Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) program.
In this varied role, you'll manage the end-to-end administration of scholarship programs, working closely with students, academic staff, government stakeholders and sponsors to ensure applications, assessments and payments are delivered accurately and efficiently. About the Role
Reporting to the Team Leader, Scholarships, you will manage the Commonwealth Prac Payment (CPP) – a government initiative supporting students undertaking mandatory, unpaid placements in teaching, nursing, midwifery, and social work.
You will develop and apply a deep understanding of relevant policies and eligibility requirements, which will enable you to offer clear, confident advice to students, staff, and sponsors.
You will oversee the full CPP lifecycle, from assessment, outcome, payment and reporting, while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage CPP applications from assessment through to, payment and reporting.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to students, sponsors and University staff.
- Process CPPpayments and financial transactions.
- Monitor student eligibility, progression and ongoing scholarship compliance.
- Analyse data and prepare reports to support government and University reporting requirements.
- Build positive relationships across the University and with external stakeholders.
Who we are looking for:
We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and has exceptional organisational skills.
To be successful, you will have:
- A degree, diploma with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service and managing complex enquiries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, together with experience working with databases and high-volume data.
Desirable:
- Experience administering scholarship, sponsorship or financial assistance programs.
- Experience within the tertiary education sector.
- Experience working with government-funded programs or external stakeholders.
Role Requirements
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role

This role attracts a salary package of $83,283 - $91,103 (G05) per annum plus 17% superannuation. plus 17% superannuation.
