Veterinary Nurse – Part-Time Position

About Us:
Peakhurst Veterinary hospital has been providing exceptional care to the small companion animals for over 30 years.
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. For this position, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an experienced nurse looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!
About the Role:
As a Veterinary Nurse, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience across a range of clinical and client-facing duties. The role is split between nursing and reception duties, rotated weekly for a well-balanced and varied workday.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical Nursing Duties:
- Triaging emergencies and providing critical care
- Assisting with surgeries, anaesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care
- IV catheter placement, blood collection, and running in-house diagnostics
- Providing compassionate care to patients in hospital
Reception Duties:
- Scheduling appointments and managing client communications
- Processing insurance claims, payments, and discharges
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming environment
This is a varied role that will offer both experienced nurses and new graduates the chance to expand their skills and build a well-rounded career in veterinary nursing.
About You:
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for animal care.
- You have at least 2 years’ experience in general practice and are confident in handling emergencies, anaesthesia monitoring, and nursing procedures.
- A compassionate and confident communicator who works well both with animals and their owners
- Eager to contribute to a supportive team environment and grow your skills
