Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a Chef role within our business. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our team and assist to continue growing our brand. We have a happy hard-working team and require someone to join our kitchen brigade that shares their passion for serving up the best.
As a chef, you will be responsible for providing quality dishes which have been prepared, cooked and presented according to company standard and within timescales required for the Restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Checking the quality of raw or cooked food products to ensure that standards are met
- Checking quality of foods or supplies
- Planning and organising foods to be prepared
- Preparation, cooking, garnishing or presentation of food
- Liaising with Executive Chef and management on daily food preparation activities
- Collaborating with other personnel to plan and develop recipes or menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients or the likely number of customers
- Coordinate timing of food production activities and determining production schedules to ensure timely delivery of services
- Maintaining high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout kitchen area and maintaining hygienic food preparation work area
- Ordering, receiving of stock to company standards
- Conducting daily start and end of service procedures
Requirements
Our ideal candidate is a Chef with a mandatory two years’ fulltime work experience with AQF Diploma or Advance Diploma level qualification. In the absence of qualification, 3 years full time relevant work experience is required.
Skills/Attributions
Demonstrated knowledge of culinary techniques and practice
Understanding of menu and recipe development techniques
· Strong leadership abilities
· Ongoing awareness of culinary trends
· Understanding of health and sanitation laws
· Excellent knife-handling skills
· Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
