As part of the Legislation Services team, you will contribute daily to helping get new transport laws ready for Executive Council, Cabinet, and the Parliament; whether by advising on process at the early policy stage or doing quality assurance checks for documents progressing to Cabinet. You will help progress delegations of legislative power, as well as coordinate whole of department responses to local councils for State Interest Checks.
You will also help prepare materials for use by the Minister or the Parliamentary Committee. As well as:
Assisting with the review and updating of legislation, including reviewing drafting instructions for subordinate legislation, and opening files with the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel.
Providing professional and timely advice on the TMR legislative program and processes.

Previous experience in a legislative or policy officer role will be highly regarded.
Previous experience in processing legislative delegations will be highly regarded.
Skilled in building positive working relationships, including the ability to work as part of a small team to ensure that business outcomes and deadlines are achieved.
Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
