USAD HEAVY DIESEL SERVICES PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic to join its team in Griffin. The successful applicant will inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
Key responsibilities:

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, vehicles and heavy equipment.

Repair and replace defective or worn components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and associated systems.

Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on vehicles and machinery.

Attend breakdowns and undertake field-service repairs when required.

Maintain accurate service, maintenance and repair records.

Follow workplace health and safety requirements, company procedures and manufacturer specifications.

Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
Essential requirements:

Relevant Australian trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent recognised qualification.

At least [two/three] years of relevant post-qualification experience in diesel engine, heavy vehicle and/or heavy-equipment maintenance and repairs.

Demonstrated experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.

Ability to use diagnostic scan tools and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and schematics.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.

Current unrestricted driver licence.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable requirements:
-
Experience servicing trucks, cranes, earthmoving equipment, mining machinery, 4WDs or other heavy diesel equipment.

Experience with Caterpillar, Komatsu, Cummins, Volvo or similar equipment.
-
HR or HC driver licence.
-
Welding and fabrication skills.

$40.00 per hour, equivalent to $83,200 per annum plus superannuation based on 40 ordinary hours per week.
