Take the lead in managing a critical rail infrastructure asset supporting Brisbane Airport.
Ventia is seeking an experienced Asset Manager or Senior Maintenance Manager with a current Queensland Electrical Licence and ideally rail infrastructure experience to join our Brisbane Airport Rail Link (BARL) contract.
This senior leadership role combines asset stewardship, electrical compliance, maintenance delivery and strategic lifecycle planning across a critical rail network. It’s an opportunity for an electrical professional from rail, transport, utilities, infrastructure or another highly regulated environment to take ownership of a high-profile asset portfolio and shape its long-term performance, reliability and compliance.

About the Role
Reporting to the Contract Manager, you will lead the safe, reliable and cost-effective management of rail infrastructure assets across the Brisbane Airport Rail Link network.
Leading a team of five, you will oversee the maintenance, renewal and continuous improvement of:

Rail track and infrastructure

Signalling and electrical systems
-
Stations and associated assets
-
Structures and supporting infrastructure
Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver asset management, maintenance and renewal strategies.

Lead lifecycle planning, condition assessments and asset investment decisions.

Ensure maintenance is delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Act as the Qualified Technical Person (QTP) for electrical and signalling works.

Monitor asset performance, defects and corrective actions.

Manage budgets, forecasting, asset registers and infrastructure data.

Support safety, compliance and audit requirements.

Lead, mentor and develop maintenance teams.

Build effective relationships with clients, regulators, contractors and key stakeholders.
About You
You’ll bring a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership capability and asset management experience, ideally gained across rail, transport, utilities, mining, power, airports or broader infrastructure.
Essential Requirements

Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Asset Management or a related field

Construction White Card
-
Ability to meet Rail Category 2 Medical requirements

Ability to obtain a National Police Check
Experience

Experience managing maintenance and infrastructure assets

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety and compliance

Proven experience leading maintenance teams and contractors

Experience in asset management, reliability or lifecycle planning

Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
Desirable

Previous rail industry experience

Knowledge of Rail Safety National Law and ONRSR requirements

Signalling or systems maintenance experience
