- Diagnoses faults in engines and parts
- Dismantles and removes engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checks parts.
- Repairs and replaces worn and defective parts and reassembles mechanical components, referring to service manuals as needed.
- Performs scheduled maintenance services to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
- Reassembles engines and parts after being repaired.
- Tests and adjusts mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance, diagnoses and test parts with the assistance of computers
- Repairing, replacing and fitting vehicle tyres.
- Performing seasonal tyre changeovers.
- Performing tyre diagnostics (e.g., checking tyre condition, pressure and tread depth).
- Checking and adjusting wheel balance and rotation
- Wheel alignment, steering wheel adjustment, suspension In ating vehicle tyres.
- Helping customers to choose products that meet their requirements.
- Ensuring work areas and tools are kept tidy and in good working order.
- Inspects tyres to determine which repair action to implement and repairs punctures in tubes and tubeless tyres.
- Operates air driven equipment to remove and refit tyres and tubes on vehicles.
- Balances wheels and tyres using static and electronic equipment.
- Diagnosing wheel balance problems and balancing wheels.
