The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for, and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Role
The Examination Officer plays a crucial role in coordinating the recruitment, selection, and appointment of examination staff, ensuring all processes align with established procedures. This includes managing expressions of interest, appointments, and payment calculations for supervisors. The role also involves maintaining accurate records across multiple databases, reviewing and updating examination documents, and assisting examination supervisors, casual staff, and school administrators with queries. Additionally, the Examination Officer is responsible for developing and updating online training courses for supervisors, providing desktop and IT support, and managing content for the ATAR course examination supervisors' portal.
Further responsibilities include coordinating quotations and liaising with contracted services for the supply of examination materials, verifying accounts, and overseeing the delivery and storage of printed resources. The role also involves supporting the annual award ceremony through stakeholder liaison and certificate preparation. Additionally, the Examination Officer assists with routine correspondence, examination logistics, and responding to information requests from schools, education sectors, and the community, ensuring all records and databases are maintained in line with the Authority’s policies.
