Acting Performance Studio is looking for creative, energetic Screen Acting and Musical Theatre Teachers to join our team at our main Moorabbin studio and our Ringwood location.
This is a casual role teaching children and teenagers in after-school and weekend classes. It is ideal for current performing arts students, recent graduates, emerging performers, or experienced teachers who love working with young people.
At APS, our classes are practical, creative and performance-focused. Depending on your skills and interests, you may work with students on acting scenes, improvisation, comedy sketches, screen acting, short films, green screen, voiceover, musical theatre and live performance.
We encourage our teachers to bring their own ideas and personality into the classroom. We’re looking for people who can create a fun, supportive environment while giving students genuine opportunities to perform, build confidence and develop their skills.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Training or experienced in acting, musical theatre or a related performing arts field
- Warm, energetic and confident working with kids and teens
- Creative and excited to develop scenes, games and performance ideas
- Reliable, organised and comfortable leading a group
- Passionate about performing and helping young people grow
- Able to work collaboratively with the APS team
Previous teaching experience is an advantage but is not essential for the right person. Experience with filmmaking, cameras, video editing or creating screen content is also a bonus.
Classes are primarily after school and on weekends, with additional opportunities available through holiday programs, workshops and performance projects.
Applicants will need to hold or obtain a valid Victorian Working with Children Check.
Pay: $28.59 – $60.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
