Bowral Maternity Unit provides midwifery‑led care to low‑risk women across the Wingecarribee and Wollondilly regions, supporting women and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. As a Registered Midwife, you will deliver woman‑centred care and be part of an innovative service offering continuity of care through our established Midwifery Antenatal and Postnatal Service (MAPS).

Deliver woman‑centred midwifery care across antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal settings

Work within a continuity of care model through the MAPS program, supporting women and families throughout their maternity journey

Contribute to innovative and evolving models of midwifery‑led care within the maternity service

Work within South Western Sydney Local Health District, with close links to Campbelltown and Liverpool Hospitals

Selection Criteria

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in situations where women decline care that falls outside clinical guidelines. Please provide examples of how you have used respectful, woman-centredcommunication to support informed decision-making, maintain trust, and uphold professional standards when a woman has chosen a care path outside recommended guidelines.
Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive midwifery care across the full continuum, in line with the scope of practice for Midwifery-led model of care. Describe how you maintain competence and continuity in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, and how you adapt your practice to meet the diverse and changing needs of women and their families across the maternity journey.
