The Wardrobe Man is a Perth-based design and manufacturing business specialising in premium custom wardrobes, cabinetry and storage systems.
You'll spend your day with high-end clients who want custom storage solutions they can't get anywhere else. Your job is to understand their space, explain how our systems beat traditional joinery and mass-market alternatives, and close the deal.
If you're a sales professional who can build strong relationships, understands design, and wants to work with a product that genuinely stands out, this role is for you.
About the Role
We're looking for an exceptional Sales & Design Consultant to join our Wangara showroom and lead client relationships from first conversation through to project completion. You'll understand their needs deeply, position our systems as the intelligent choice, and build relationships based on expertise and trust.
This is consultative work, not transactional. You'll engage with well-informed clients, and your role is to guide them to the right decision through clarity, design knowledge, and professional guidance. You'll report directly to Kevin, our founder and CEO, who will mentor you through on-the-job training.
What You’ll Do
- Consult with clients face-to-face, over the phone, and via email to understand their space and what they need.
- Work with our design team to create custom specifications tailored to each project.
- Drive sales through relationship management, follow-up on quotes, and closing deals with a focus on value and service.
- Manage the client experience from first enquiry through to sign-off.
- Handle showroom appointments and walk-ins professionally.
- Keep CRM records, invoicing, and project coordination on track.
- Collaborate with the design, factory and installation teams to ensure projects run smoothly.
About You
- 2+ years in a sales based role, ideally in design, construction, premium retail or a comparable field.
- You understand design basics and can discuss space, layout and finishes with confidence.
- You ask good questions and listen more than you pitch.
- You've worked with high-end clients who are well-informed. You understand how to position value clearly and confidently.
- You're comfortable addressing client objections and concerns. You don't get defensive, you listen and find solutions.
- You're organised, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages.
- You're comfortable in a professional showroom environment and represent a brand with confidence.
- You genuinely enjoy the pursuit of a sale, the follow-up, and the satisfaction of closing a deal. You're driven by results and take pride in converting opportunities.
- You genuinely want to help clients get the best solution for their needs, even if that isn't always us. You take pride in guiding people to the right decision.
- You're proficient with CRM systems, design software, project management platforms, and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.).
- Right to work in Australia and valid driver's licence.
- (Preferred) Based in or near the Northern Suburbs of Perth.
Why Join Us?
- Work with a genuinely differentiated product that stands on its own.
- A brand with clear positioning and a team that respects excellence.
- Direct mentoring from our founder and CEO as part of on-the-job training.
- Supportive, small-team culture where you'll have real influence.
