Monstera Cafe is a well-established waterfront café located on the picturesque Mosman Bay Wharf. Renowned for its quality coffee, fresh seasonal produced and beautifully presented modern Australian breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, we are committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience in one of Sydney’s most unique café settings.
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our growing kitchen team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As our Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality café cuisine while contributing to menu innovation and maintaining efficient kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Prepare, cook and present a wide range of modern Australian breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard.
•Develop seasonal menu items and daily specials using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
•Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
•Coordinate kitchen operations during busy service periods.
•Monitor stock levels, order supplies and minimise food wastage.
•Maintain food safety, hygiene and WHS standards in accordance with Australian regulations.
•Assist with supervising and training kitchen staff.
•Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
•At least one years of full-time post-qualification experience as a Chef.
•Experience working in a busy café or restaurant environment.
•Strong knowledge of modern Australian café cuisine and seasonal menu planning.
•Excellent organisational and time management skills.
•Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
•A positive attitude, reliability and excellent teamwork skills.
