Demand Civil is seeking an experienced and capable Site Supervisor with Multi-Skilled Plant Operator background to join our civil construction team. This position is available on either a full-time or contract basis for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will be a hands-on supervisor who can independently coordinate site activities, operate multiple types of construction plant when required, and deliver works safely, efficiently and in accordance with project program and budget requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise daily civil construction activities
- Manage employees, subcontractors, plant, materials and site resources
- Monitor project progress against the approved construction program and budget
- Prepare accurate daily reports, progress updates, site records and supporting documentation
- Manage site safety requirements, including pre-starts, SWMS compliance, inspections and corrective actions
- Coordinate quality assurance activities, ITPs, hold points, testing and project records
- Manage procurement and ensure materials, plant and subcontractors are available when required
- Identify potential delays, risks and cost impacts and report them promptly
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Operate civil construction plant and equipment when required
- Ensure all works comply with project specifications, drawings, environmental requirements and company procedures
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum three years’ experience in a Civil Site Supervisor or similar leadership position
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction, including earthworks, drainage, roadworks, pavements and associated works
- Proven multi-skilled plant operating experience
- Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma in Civil Construction, Construction Management or a relevant discipline
- Strong understanding of construction programs, budgets, productivity and cost control
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, quality assurance and environmental compliance
- Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities in a fast-paced site environment
- Strong communication, leadership, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Competence in electronic progress reporting and site documentation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Relevant plant tickets, licences and VOCs applicable to the position
