The Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR) plays a vital role in strengthening ECU’s relationships with its alumni, supporters and broader community. As custodians of the University’s alumni engagement strategy, the team creates meaningful opportunities for connection, storytelling, philanthropy and lifelong engagement with the ECU community.
About the Opportunity
Ashe Munro Recruitment are proudly partnering with Edith Cowan University to appoint an Alumni and Community Relations Coordinator within the Office of Development and Alumni Relations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, proactive and relationship-driven communications professional to join a highly engaged team and play a key role in strengthening alumni engagement at ECU.
With a strong focus on content creation, digital communications and audience engagement, this role will help bring ECU’s alumni stories to life across social media, eDMs, web and broader engagement channels, while also contributing to alumni initiatives, events and community programs.
Reporting to the Alumni Relations Manager, you will coordinate alumni communications across digital channels, create compelling content, build meaningful stakeholder relationships and support engagement initiatives that strengthen lifelong alumni connection with ECU.

About you
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver ECU’s alumni communications across digital channels including LinkedIn, Facebook, eDMs and website content
Create compelling alumni-focused content including feature stories, newsletters, campaigns and targeted communications
Research and develop engaging alumni stories that showcase achievements, impact and community connection
Proactively assess communication opportunities and determine the most effective channels to maximise engagement outcomes
Build strong relationships with alumni, internal stakeholders and external partners to support meaningful engagement initiatives
Monitor digital engagement and campaign performance, identifying opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement
Utilise ECU’s CRM to maintain records, extract reporting and analyse engagement performance
Support with the coordination of alumni events, mentoring initiatives, recognition programs and community engagement activities
Support volunteer and alumni ambassador activity where relevant
Contribute to alumni engagement initiatives that support long-term connection, participation and philanthropic growth
You are an engaging and proactive communications professional who enjoys combining strong content capability with relationship building and community engagement.
You’ll bring:
Demonstrated experience in communications, digital marketing, content creation, alumni engagement, stakeholder engagement or a related field
Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to create compelling, audience-appropriate content across multiple channels
Strong social media capability, including content planning, engagement growth and performance optimisation
Sound judgement in selecting the most effective communication approach for different audiences and objectives
A naturally proactive approach, someone who identifies opportunities rather than waiting for direction
Excellent relationship-building skills and confidence engaging with a broad range of stakeholders
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Experience coordinating events, engagement initiatives or community programs
Experience working within higher education, alumni relations, membership, fundraising or purpose-driven environments will be highly regarded
