About the Role
Altona North Cricket Club is looking for an organised, energetic and creative Events Manager to help improve the quality of our club’s social events.
This casual position will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering enjoyable, well-run events for our players, members, families, sponsors and local community.
Our event calendar includes functions such as season launches, presentation nights, family days, themed nights, fundraising events, sponsor functions and other social activities throughout the cricket season.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate club social events from concept through to completion
- Develop event ideas that increase attendance and member engagement
- Prepare event plans, budgets, timelines and run sheets
- Coordinate venues, catering, entertainment, decorations and suppliers
- Work with the club committee, volunteers and venue staff
- Assist with event promotion through social media, email and club communications
- Coordinate ticketing, registrations and guest lists
- Help organise raffles, fundraising activities and event sponsorship
- Oversee event setup, delivery and pack-down
- Ensure events are professional, welcoming and enjoyable
- Review each event and recommend improvements for future functions
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience organising events, functions or community activities
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Communicates confidently with suppliers, volunteers and guests
- Can work independently while collaborating with a committee
- Brings creative ideas and strong attention to detail
- Is comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends
- Understands the community sporting club environment
- Is reliable, approachable and willing to take ownership of events
Experience in hospitality, event management, community sport, fundraising or marketing would be highly regarded.
