About The Role:
We are currently seeking a site-based Document Controller/Writer to provide proactive oversight and coordination of the site document management framework. This role plays a key part ensuring controlled documents are current, accurate, accessible and appropriately governed throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain oversight of the complete lifecycle of controlled documents, from development and approval through to review, revision, publication, archival and withdrawal.
- Administer the site document management system in accordance with applicable document-control standards and governance requirements.
- Develop and embed a sustainable system of work that transitions document management from a reactive approach to a proactive, planned and risk-based model.
- Support strong governance, compliance and operational discipline through effective document control.
- Support departments through writing new documents and Safe Work Instructions (SWI) based on risk assessments and task descriptions.
Requirements for Successful Applicant:
- Demonstrated experience in document control, records management or information management, preferably within mining, resources, construction or another regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience using electronic document management systems (EDMS), including document workflows, version control and approval processes.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly SharePoint, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Understanding of document lifecycle management, governance, records management and controlled-document principles.
- Experience coordinating document reviews and proactively engaging stakeholders to meet review and approval timeframes.
- Experience with reporting, dashboards and document compliance monitoring.
- Experience writing documents and SWI through collaboration with workgroups that provide task descriptions and details.
