With a wide variety of projects and clients, no two days are exactly the same. We’re looking for an experienced Skilled Labourer who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in what they do and is looking for a stable, long-term career within the construction industry.
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Skilled Labourer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a hands-on construction role, and we are ideally looking for someone who already has solid labouring experience and is confident working in a construction environment.
You’ll work alongside our experienced construction team across a variety of steel building projects throughout Sydney, assisting with steel erection, roofing and cladding, site preparation, concrete works and general construction duties.
We’re looking for someone who can confidently get involved on site, use hand and power tools, follow instructions and work efficiently as part of a team.
You’ll need to be comfortable working outdoors, carrying out physical work and working from ladders and at heights where required.
Adaptability and a willingness to learn are important, as the work can vary considerably from one project to the next.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Skilled and general construction labouring across a variety of projects
- Assisting with the construction and erection of commercial, rural and residential steel buildings and sheds
- Assisting tradespeople and experienced shed builders with day-to-day construction works
- Working with steel framing, roofing, wall cladding, flashings and building materials
- Measuring, cutting, drilling, grinding and preparing materials
- Confidently using a range of hand and power tools
- Loading, unloading and moving steel, materials and equipment
- Assisting with site preparation, earthworks and concrete works when required
- Working from ladders and at heights where required
- Keeping job sites clean, organised and safe
- Assisting with general yard and factory duties when required
- Following WHS procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
- Working as part of the wider team to get projects completed efficiently and to a high standard
What We’re Looking For
- Previous construction or skilled labouring experience is highly regarded
- Good practical, hands-on skills and confidence working on construction sites
- Experience using hand and power tools
- A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual and outdoor work
- Comfortable working from ladders and at heights
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work independently when required
- Current Driver Licence and reliable transport
- Current White Card
Experience within steel building construction, roofing, metalwork, carpentry, concreting or a similar construction trade would be highly regarded.
