The Opportunity
Operate, maintain and construct sewerage assets to ensure the efficient provision of wastewater services to the community.
Your Role
In this hands-on role, you will be required to:
- Operate, maintain and monitor sewage treatment plants, sewage pump stations and sewer reticulation assets.
- Keep accurate operational records of sewage treatment plants, sewage pump stations and sewer reticulation assets.
- Participate in the construction and repair of sewer reticulation assets.
- Carry out water quality tests and keep accurate records of results.
- Participate in the sewer on-call roster.
- Assist with any other tasks related to the Water and Wastewater Section
What you’ll bring
- A certificate in Wastewater Treatment Operations for Sewage Treatment Plants (Part 1) or the ability to obtain the above certificate within 24 months.
- A Certificate III in a related area such as construction, plumbing, mechanical or electrical trades or relevant industry experience.
- Availability and capacity to undertake on-call duties.
- A white card (general construction induction card).
- A current Class "C" driver licence.
Your Working Environment (for eligible employees)
- A 38-hour working week, over a 9-day fortnight
- Access to 6.5 weeks long service leave after 5 years
- 4 weeks paid annual leave
- Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $1013 per annum applies.

Salary from $56,906.20 - $65,534.04 per year + 12 % super, depending on skills, experience and qualifications. Grade 3 - 6 in accordance with Council's Salary System and the Local Government State Award.
