About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable and confident dietitian to provide high-quality nutrition care through home visits and telehealth.
The role is available to start ASAP. It will initially involve approximately one day per week, including maternity leave clients becoming available from October, with plenty of scope to increase.
This role is based in Melbourne’s south-east, primarily servicing:
- Clyde, Pakenham and Narre Warren
- The Mornington Peninsula, down to Rosebud

- Is genuinely interested in working with clients across all age groups and a range of disabilities.
- Is confident and comfortable working with paediatric clients — this is an essential requirement.
- Has an interest in supporting children with ASD, developmental delays and fussy eating.
- Is happy to work independently and manage their own schedule.
- Is comfortable travelling for home visits across Melbourne’s south-east.
- Is looking for flexible subcontractor work that can complement their existing workload.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a mix of home visits and telehealth consultations.
- Deliver practical, individualised nutrition support in clients’ homes or agreed community settings.
- Support clients with areas such as nutrition education, meal planning, cooking skills, meal preparation and supermarket tours.
- Work with a varied caseload of children, adults and older adults.
- Caseload may include children with ASD and fussy eating, developmental delays, disability-related nutrition needs, PEG feeding, and aged-care nutrition concerns.
- Manage appointments around your availability, with flexibility in setting your own schedule.
Payment and travel
- Paid per appointment in line with applicable NDIS and aged-care rates.
- Travel time and kilometres compensated in line with NDIS guidelines.
- Paid for eligible short-notice cancellations.
- If you reside outside Melbourne’s south-east, a south-east suburb will need to be nominated as your travel base for calculating travel.
Essential requirements
- Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status and current Dietitians Australia membership/certificate.
- ABN.
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Working with Children Check.
- Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfort and interest in working with infants, children and teenagers.
Desirable
- Experience supporting children with fussy eating, ASD or developmental delays.
- Paediatric nutrition or feeding training, such as SOS Approach to Feeding.
- Experience with enteral nutrition/PEG feeding.
- Experience or strong interest in disability nutrition and NDIS-funded services.
Please note: this is a subcontractor position and does not include senior dietitian mentoring or clinical supervision.
