Carlisle Adventist College is seeking a flexible and practical Secondary teacher to join our team from Term 3, 2026. This is a fixed-term full-time position for the remainder of the 2026 school year.
This role includes a combination of Manual Arts, Visual Arts, and Sport and Recreation classes. The position would suit a teacher who enjoys working across practical subject areas and is confident engaging students through hands-on, creative and active learning experiences.

About the Role
The successful applicant will teach across a range of practical Secondary subject areas, which may include:
- Manual Arts / Industrial Technology and Design
- Visual Arts
- Sport and Recreation
The teaching load can be shaped around the strengths and experience of the successful applicant, with Manual Arts being a key component of the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, practical learning experiences
- Maintaining safe and well-managed workshop, classroom and activity spaces
- Supporting students to develop creativity, practical skills, problem-solving and confidence
- Teaching sport and recreation activities in a safe and structured manner
- Assessing, reporting and documenting student learning in line with school expectations
- Building positive relationships with students, staff and families
- Contributing positively to the Christian culture and wider life of the College
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- A commitment to the Christian ethos and mission of Carlisle Adventist College
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current Queensland College of Teachers registration, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Experience or capacity to teach Manual Arts, Visual Arts, Sport and Recreation, or related practical subjects
- Strong classroom, workshop and behaviour management skills
- A commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and professional conduct
- Flexibility, initiative and a willingness to work across multiple subject areas
- The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
