About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and experienced Exercise Physiologist to join the University of Canberra Hospital (UCH) Exercise Physiology Team. Based within Brindabella Day and Ambulatory Rehabilitation Services (BDARS), this position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference to patients' recovery and wellbeing while working in a contemporary rehabilitation-focused hospital environment.
As part of a dedicated and collaborative Exercise Physiology team, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based services across a range of clinical settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient rehabilitation and hydrotherapy programs. Working closely with multidisciplinary health professionals, you will support patients to improve their function, independence and quality of life through tailored exercise interventions and rehabilitation programs.
Under the limited direction of the RACS Brindabella Day and Ambulatory Rehabilitation Service Manager, you will play an important role in delivering patient-centred rehabilitation services, contributing to service development and supporting positive health outcomes for a diverse patient population. This is a rewarding opportunity to apply your clinical expertise across a broad scope of practice while gaining valuable experience within a specialist rehabilitation setting.
You will be supported by the Canberra Health Services Exercise Physiology Profession Lead, who provides professional leadership, mentoring and clinical guidance to promote excellence in practice, professional growth and high-quality service delivery. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your skills while working within a highly regarded allied health service committed to innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
The successful applicant will be confident working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience in a hospital or rehabilitation setting will be highly regarded, along with the ability to safely deliver hydrotherapy services within a clinical environment. Pool rescue training will be provided.
This position may require participation in weekend, on-call, and rotational rosters, with the flexibility to work across a range of services, locations, and programs to meet operational and patient care needs.
A merit pool may be established from this recruitment process and will remain valid for 12 months. This pool may be used to fill similar roles/ future vacant positions at the same level across CHS.

Note: This is a part-time (33 hours per week) temporary position available for five and half months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. The full-time salary noted above will be paid pro rata for part-time hours.
