Finden Solar and Electrical is a leading provider of high-quality solar installations. We pride ourselves on our structured, safe, and efficient processes. We are currently looking for a driven and reliable 3rd or 4th Year Electrical Apprentice to join our team, step up in their responsibilities, and master solar installations under the guidance of our Senior Electricians.
The Role: Your day-to-day work will be guided by our strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. A typical installation day will involve:
- Site Arrival & Setup: Assisting with customer communication, taking responsibility for and managing the unloading and staging of tools and equipment.
- Roof & Mechanical Array: Taking a lead role in tile flashing, racking, and rail setup. You will also be working on roof DC cabling, UV-rated conduit installation, and panel hauling/mounting.
- Electrical & Switchboard: Supporting and observing the Senior Electrician during switchboard upgrades and final AC/DC cable terminations, working through the inverter mounting and AC cable runs.
- Commissioning & Compliance: Supporting mandatory testing (insulation resistance, earth continuity, Voc/Isc string testing per AS/NZS 5033) and taking responsibility for system commissioning, inverter firmware configuration, and app pairing.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled as a 3rd or 4th-year electrical apprentice in WA.
- Hold a valid Electrician's Training Licence (as required by DMIRS).
- Hold a valid Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Current WA Driver's Licence (C Class) and reliable transport.
- Strong commitment to safety and strictly following SOPs.
- Working at Heights ticket.
