Looking for a full time Motor Mechanic, or highly qualified fourth year apprentice. You will be joining our, small, busy, well-kept workshop in Botany, 2019, NSW.
We are looking for a Motor Mechanic who will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing motor vehicles to the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes performing inspections, scheduled maintenance, and repairs to ensure vehicles comply with OEM specifications and relevant regulations while maintaining a clean and organised workshop.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
ü Diagnose and identify faults in engines, components, and mechanical systems.
ü Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and related components; inspect, repair, or replace defective parts.
ü Perform repairs and reassemble mechanical components, referring to manufacturer service manuals as required.
ü Conduct scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, ensuring optimal vehicle performance and compliance with environmental and pollution regulations.
ü Reassemble engines and components after repair and perform quality testing.
ü Test and adjust repaired mechanical parts to ensure proper performance and efficiency.
ü Use computer diagnostic tools and technologies to analyse and identify faults.
ü Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment while adhering to WHS (Work Health and Safety) standards.
ü Contribute to workshop maintenance and undertake additional duties within the automotive trade as required.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
ü Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
ü Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
ü ASCIS Examiner Accreditation (Pink Slip Inspections) is desirable.
ü NSW Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate.
ü Valid NSW Driver’s Licence.
Experience:
Minimum fourth year apprentice, Preferred fully qualified.

ü Basic knowledge of auto-electrical systems.
ü Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
