⛵Sailing Instructor
Keppel Bay Sailing Club
Do you know your bow from your stern? Can you rig a boat faster than most people can make a coffee? Do you enjoy inspiring the next generation of sailors while spending your days on the water?
If that sounds like you, we want you aboard!
At Keppel Bay Sailing Club, we're looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and safety-focused Sailing Instructors to help deliver unforgettable sailing experiences through our growing Sailing Academy.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be teaching, coaching, mentoring, encouraging, and occasionally untangling ropes while delivering programs including:
- Tackers
- OutThere Sailing
- Start Windsurfing
- Start Sailing
- School Sailing Programs
- Discover Sailing Events
Every day is different, but you'll spend your time:
- Delivering fun, engaging, and safe on-water sessions
- Helping participants build confidence and sailing skills
- Preparing and rigging boats before sessions
- Packing down, cleaning, and caring for equipment afterwards
- Supporting club events and activities
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment
- Being a role model both on and off the water
What We're Looking For
You don't need to be an Olympic sailor - but you do need to love being on the water and enjoy working with people.
You'll ideally have:
✅ Dinghy, keelboat and/or powerboat experience
✅ Great communication skills with children, teens and adults
✅ A positive attitude and team-first mindset
✅ Strong awareness of safety and risk management
✅ Reliability, organisation and enthusiasm
Bonus points if you have racing experience!

Plus:
- Australian Sailing Powerboat Handling & Safety Boat Operator Certificate
- Queensland Marine Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR Certificate

Why You'll Love It
- Work outdoors instead of staring at a screen
- Spend your days on the water
- Help people discover a lifelong passion
- Be part of a fun, supportive sailing community
- Develop your coaching and leadership skills
- Every day looks different
