This position will be location negotiable within the Mid North Coast Local Health District. Our District offices are located at Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie
Lead meaningful change and help shape the future of Aboriginal Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drug services across the Mid North Coast.
About the Role
As the Integrated Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Aboriginal District Coordinator, you will provide strategic leadership to improve outcomes for Aboriginal people, communities and staff across the district. Working closely with senior leaders, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and key stakeholders, you will drive Aboriginal workforce development, support culturally safe models of care, lead strategic initiatives aligned with Closing the Gap priorities, and influence service design and delivery across mental health and alcohol and other drug services.
This is a highly visible leadership role that offers the opportunity to contribute to state and national discussions, strengthen partnerships, and champion innovative approaches that improve health outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
About You
You are a respected Aboriginal leader with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities impacting Aboriginal people experiencing mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. You bring exceptional relationship-building, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with experience leading strategic initiatives, workforce development programs, and service improvement projects.
You are passionate about advancing culturally safe healthcare, supporting Aboriginal workforce growth, and driving meaningful change through collaboration, innovation and evidence-based practice. Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in health, community services or a related field, together with a current NSW driver's licence and willingness to travel, are essential.
