Multiple Business Support Officer positions across a number of units in Council are available. Teams you could support include Governance, Records & IT, People, Safety & Culture, Community Services and Infrastructure Planning & Delivery. Placement is determined by the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and operational requirements.
The Business Support Officer role operates collaboratively by providing broad based administrative and operational support services across Council. This will contribute to maximising the functions of each team and establishes best practice.
Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:
- Administration support to coordinate and undertake administration functions.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the team.
- Deliver superior customer service to internal and external stakeholders and provide high quality, efficient and accurate administrative support.
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner to ensure effective delivery of service.
- Prepare / update policies and procedures in collaboration with the team.
- Perform and assist in the capture, maintenance and retrieval of information for internal and external customers, in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Ensure all corporate information is captured within Council’s business systems adhering to recordkeeping policies and procedures.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Suitable qualifications and/or demonstrated experience relevant to the position including administration experience.
- Current Queensland “C” Class drivers Licence.
- Possession of a Working with Children Check (blue card) as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 or similar tools.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer service environment.
- Significant achievement in building effective internal and external relationships.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly developed organisational, time management and prioritisation skills, with a proven track.
- Ability to work under pressure, effectively managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to foster a collaborative positive work environment.
