We're seeking an experienced and innovative
Place Activation Coordinator to join our
Communications and Engagement team on a fixed-term contract from September to January 2028 (parental leave cover.)
From concept through to event delivery, you will plan and deliver a range of fun, unexpected and engaging initiatives that appeal to students, staff and the broader local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- idea generation, creative pitch, event planning and development, and event management and delivery.
- work collaboratively with internal teams, consultants, contractors and external partners to maximise event success and impact.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery within scope, budget and agreed timelines.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate initiatives and continuously improve future programs.
- manage a diverse range of events and contribute to the supportive team culture.
Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated event management or placemaking experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- The experience and ability to develop creative, unique, and engaging experiences.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience using data and insights to evaluate outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
- The flexibility to work outside normal office hours when required to deliver and support events and activations.
Role Requirements:
- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
- Successful applicants will be subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction

This fixed-term opportunity attracts a salary package of $106,094 - $125,047 (G07) per annum plus 17% superannuation.
