Disability Support Worker – Coolaroo VIC
Assigned Guardian Angels (AGA) is seeking a reliable, experienced and engaging Disability Support Worker to provide ongoing support to a male participant in Coolaroo, VIC.
Available Shifts
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Up to 37 hours per week available.
About the Role
We are looking for a Support Worker who is confident, engaging and able to communicate clearly in English, as effective communication and building a positive rapport with the participant are important parts of this role.
The participant uses a wheelchair and Sara Stedy transfer aid, so applicants must be physically capable of safely assisting with transfers and mobility support, in accordance with the participant's care plan, manual handling procedures and any required training.
Duties may include:
- Personal care and daily living assistance
- Safe mobility and transfer assistance using a Sara Stedy
- Wheelchair support
- Community access and appointments
- Meaningful conversation, companionship and activities
- Actively engaging and building rapport with the participant
- Encouraging independence and choice
- Completing accurate progress notes
Essential Requirements
- Clear verbal English communication skills
- Ability and willingness to actively engage with the participant
- Physically capable of performing the inherent requirements of the role, including safe mobility and transfer assistance
- Disability support experience, preferably supporting people with mobility needs
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Police Check
- First Aid & CPR
- Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle
- Reliable and able to commit consistently to agreed shifts
