Unique Curtains & Apparels is a growing business specialising in curtains, home furnishings, textiles, and apparel products. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accountant to join our team and support the financial management and growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
- Maintaining accounting records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and relevant legislation.
- Preparing and lodging BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Monitoring cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Conducting financial analysis and providing recommendations to improve business performance.
- Assisting with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Reconciling bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
- Coordinating with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensuring compliance with taxation obligations and company policies.
- Assisting management with strategic financial decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience as an Accountant, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience where no formal qualification is held.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles, taxation requirements, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB or similar systems.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
