About the Opportunity
Swanson Industries is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our busy workshop in Lambton to operate our laser cladding machines. Laser cladding is a welding process used to reclaim and protect components, increasing wear life and performance.
You will utilise your CNC programming expertise to set, run and operate our laser cladding machines, working across a diverse range of jobs that will keep you engaged and technically challenged. We have two robotic lasers used for cladding irregular shapes as well as another two laser cladding machines for round items (rods, etc.)

Your Key Responsibilities
- Operating laser cladding machines for reclamation work on components
- Creating and editing programs for hydraulic cylinder and component repair on heavy and mining industry equipment
- Producing components to tight tolerances
- Interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Conducting accurate measurements and quality checks
- Participating in toolbox talks and safety initiatives.
About You
- Relevant Mechanical Trade qualification (essential)
- CNC machining experience (hydraulics experience desirable)
- Welding exposure and understanding of welding processes desirable
- Strong ability to measure and work from samples (highly regarded)
- Ability to achieve precision and maintain quality standards
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation
- A safety-first mindset and strong team ethic
