About the role
The Nursing/Midwifery employees classified at this level provide nursing/midwifery services within the Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS). They develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice, consolidating their knowledge and skills while building capability through continuous professional development and experience. Employees at this level accept accountability for their own standards of nursing/midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.
Key duties of the role
Provide direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care to clients in a defined team with increasing autonomy over time
Participate in quality improvement activities that contribute to client safety, risk minimisation and safe work activities within the practice setting
Provide health promotion and education, to clients or groups to improve the health outcomes of individual
Provide, with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, including Enrolled Nurse
Skills and Experience
Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), with a current or eligible practising certificate.
Demonstrated competence in the relevant nursing and/or midwifery specialty, with experience delivering safe, high-quality, person and family-centred care.
Effective communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Ability to prioritise workload, adapt to changing priorities, and work flexibly within a healthcare setting.
