ABOUT CRICKETERS CLUB
Cricketers Club Sports Academy is a professional Perth cricket coaching and development organisation based in Forrestdale. The Academy provides one-on-one coaching, group training, physical training, mentoring, cricket camps and structured development programs for children and junior players of different ages and skill levels.
Our programs are designed to help young participants develop cricket skills, fitness, confidence, game awareness, teamwork and sportsmanship in a safe, inclusive and enjoyable sporting environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Community Cricket Development Officer (ANZSCO Code 452321) to plan, coordinate, promote and evaluate cricket development initiatives across the Academy and the surrounding community. The role will support grassroots participation, junior player retention, school-to-club and academy pathways, stakeholder engagement and the ongoing development of structured cricket programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop, implement and promote grassroots cricket participation programs for junior players, beginners and community participants.
· Coordinate junior cricket development programs, skills clinics, holiday camps, mentoring activities and structured one-on-one and group training schedules.
· Build and maintain productive relationships with schools, local cricket clubs, parents, coaches, community organisations and relevant sporting stakeholders to strengthen participation pathways.
· Identify local participation and development needs by gathering feedback, reviewing attendance and engagement data, and consulting with participants and community stakeholders.
· Plan and coordinate program logistics, including registrations, timetables, venues, equipment, coaching resources, participant attendance and communication with families.
· Conduct or facilitate cricket development sessions that improve fundamental skills, confidence, teamwork, discipline, fitness, game awareness and positive sporting values.
· Support player retention and progression by providing guidance to young players and families about development opportunities, academy programs and pathways into club cricket.
· Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, participation levels and participant engagement, and prepare practical reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
· Assist with the organisation of development matches, practice activities, community cricket events and promotional participation initiatives.
· Promote inclusive participation, child-safe practices, workplace health and safety, and a welcoming sporting environment for children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· A Diploma or higher qualification in sports management, sports development, business management, community development or a related discipline.
· A minimum of two years of relevant experience in cricket development, community sport, junior participation programs, sports program coordination or a closely related role.
· Strong practical knowledge of grassroots cricket, junior player development, coaching principles and participation pathways.
· Cricket Australia Community Coach Accreditation, or an equivalent recognised cricket coaching qualification, is highly desirable.
· Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, parents, coaches and participants from diverse cultural and community backgrounds.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder liaison, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organisational ability, including program scheduling, registrations, attendance monitoring, resource coordination, record keeping and reporting.
· Sound leadership, teamwork, initiative, problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced sporting environment.
· Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, school holiday periods and community events.
· A current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain them before commencing employment.
