Pest Control Trainee/Technician – EcoSafe Pest Control
Do you love working with tools, figuring out how things work and solving practical problems that most people walk straight past? EcoSafe Pest Control is looking for a hands‑on technician with strong mechanical aptitude to join our growing team across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
About EcoSafe Pest Control
- Family‑owned Victorian business operating since 2009, servicing Melbourne, Geelong, the Bellarine and the Surf Coast.
- We focus on long‑term, effective pest solutions for homes, businesses and government clients.
- Trusted by councils, universities and commercial sites where safety, reliability and professionalism are essential.
Why this will suit a mechanically minded person
You’ll enjoy this role if you:
- Like diagnosing problems: tracing where pests are getting in, understanding building layouts, reading plans and using logic to work out the best treatment.
- Enjoy equipment and systems: you’ll operate and maintain sprayers, dusters, baiting systems, monitoring devices and basic power tools, and keep them calibrated and in good working order.
- Prefer being on the move: every day is different, working across houses, warehouses, schools and commercial sites, often in plant rooms, roof spaces and subfloors.
- Take pride in neat, methodical work: clean applications, tidy cable/pipe runs for monitoring equipment, accurate measurements and clear documentation.
What you’ll be doing
- Inspecting properties to find pest activity, entry points and conducive conditions.
- Installing and servicing traps, bait stations and monitoring systems, including minor mechanical adjustments and basic repairs where required.
- Applying treatments safely and accurately, following labels and company procedures.
- Using ladders, hand and power tools, and occasionally working in confined spaces, roof cavities and subfloors.
- Explaining your findings and treatment plans to customers in plain English, and giving practical prevention advice.
What we’re looking for
- Strong mechanical aptitude – maybe you’ve worked as a fitter, mechanic, technician, tradie, maintenance hand, or you’ve always worked on cars, bikes or machinery in your own time.
- Confident using hand and power tools, comfortable troubleshooting basic equipment issues.
- Practical problem‑solver who enjoys working independently once trained, but also fits well into a small, close‑knit team.
- Full manual driver’s licence and good driving record.
- Pest control experience and licences are welcomed but not essential – we will train the right mechanically minded person.
What we offer
- Full training, licensing support and ongoing development in a specialist, growing industry.
- Stable, year‑round work with a mix of domestic and commercial jobs.
- A company vehicle, uniform, phone/tablet and all tools and equipment provided.
- Supportive, family‑business culture with a genuine focus on safety and quality.
How to apply
If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy practical work and like the idea of protecting people’s health and property while working for a reputable local business, we’d love to hear from you.
