Argyle House Camden is seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen leadership team.
Argyle House is a premium dining and events destination, known for exceptional steaks, quality produce, refined presentation and memorable guest experiences. This is an opportunity for a strong chef who takes pride in their craft and wants to help lead a professional, growing kitchen.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, lead services, maintain consistency and support the development of the wider brigade.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Delivering consistently high standards across preparation, cooking and presentation
- Managing sections during busy restaurant and function services
- Supervising, training and supporting junior chefs
- Maintaining stock control, portion control and waste management
- Assisting with ordering, preparation schedules and kitchen organisation
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and cleaning standards are maintained
- Contributing to menu development, recipe consistency and food costing
About you:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef
- Confident leading a team during high-volume services
- Strong understanding of premium produce and modern restaurant operations
- Organised, reliable and calm under pressure
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Australian working rights
- Formal cookery qualifications preferred
- Food Safety Supervisor certification is desirable

Pay: $63,737.51 – $89,287.39 per year
