Primary objective
This role provides strategic stakeholder engagement, communications and change management expertise to support the
successful delivery of the Department of Education and Training’s intranet redevelopment project. The position is
responsible for leading engagement efforts, managing communications and ensuring change initiatives are aligned with
project objectives and stakeholder needs.
Context statement
The Strategic Projects branch ensures that programs and projects align with agency, Northern Territory Government (NTG),
and Australian Government priorities. It promotes and maintains program management standards, ensuring consistent
delivery and portfolio reporting. The branch also leads the response to strategic digital technology priorities and guides the
department’s digital direction. The team develops and implements tactical plans to ensure the efficient delivery of enterprise
applications and digital services, working closely with business areas, One NTG partners, consultants, and business analysts
to achieve outcomes.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a communications and engagement strategy to support project delivery.
2. Lead a working group of key stakeholders to maintain high levels of engagement and awareness.
3. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, managing issues that may impact project success.
4. Design, implement, and evaluate change management initiatives aligned with project goals.
5. Deliver high-quality information sessions and training tailored to diverse audiences, including end users, managers, and
support teams.
6. Coordinate with business units and subject matter experts to facilitate content reviews and approvals.
7. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure consistent messaging and stakeholder alignment throughout the project
lifecycle.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, and change management within
complex projects.
2. Proven ability to develop and deliver communication strategies and change frameworks.
3. Demonstrated, highly developed liaison, change management and facilitation skills, including high level analytical and
organisational skills with good attention to detail and ability to think laterally and conceptually.
4. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
5. High-level written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desirable
1. Relevant qualifications in communications, change management, or project management (e.g., PROSCI, PRINCE2, Agile).
2. Familiarity with intranet platforms, digital content management, or user experience design.
