We are seeking an experienced A-Grade Electrician with Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrician who enjoys renewable energy, technical work, and delivering quality outcomes for customers.
About the Role
As an A-Grade Electrician – Solar & Battery Systems, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, fault finding, maintenance, and servicing of solar PV systems, battery storage solutions, and general electrical works.
You will work across residential and commercial projects, ensuring all installations meet Australian Standards, network requirements, and Illumina Energy’s high standards of workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesSolar PV & Battery Installations
- Install, wire, test, and commission residential and commercial solar PV systems.
- Install solar panels, DC cabling, isolators, inverters, and associated equipment.
- Configure and commission single-phase and three-phase solar inverter systems.
- Install and commission battery energy storage systems.
- Configure hybrid inverters, battery management systems, and backup power solutions.
- Perform testing, verification, and system handovers.
- Complete fault finding and troubleshooting of solar and battery systems.
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
- Complete electrical installations, upgrades, repairs, and maintenance works.
- Carry out switchboard upgrades, RCDs, RCBOs, protection devices, and electrical modifications.
- Perform fault finding and rectify electrical issues.
- Install lighting, power points, appliances, and electrical equipment.
- Complete residential new build and renovation electrical works including rough-ins and fit-offs.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with:
- AS/NZS 3000 – Wiring Rules
- AS/NZS 5033 – Solar PV Installations
- AS/NZS 4777 – Grid Connected Energy Systems
- WA electrical regulations and network requirements
- Complete Certificates of Compliance (COCs), eNotices, testing, and required documentation.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
Customer & Team Support
- Provide professional customer service and technical advice.
- Explain system operation, monitoring platforms, and maintenance requirements.
- Work independently and collaboratively with electricians, installers, builders, and project teams.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site presentation.
Essential Requirements
- Current WA A-Grade Electrical Licence.
- Current Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation.
- Current CEC/SAA Battery Endorsement (preferred) or willingness to obtain.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence.
- Working at Heights Certificate.
- Construction White Card.
- Experience installing residential and commercial solar PV systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical and solar standards.
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work safely and independently.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with solar brands such as Sungrow, GoodWe, FoxESS, BYD, Tesla, or similar.
- Experience with battery storage and backup systems.
- Experience with new residential construction projects.
- Experience working with builders and other trades.
