Position Summary
The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating and overseeing civil, hydraulic, drainage and roofing infrastructure projects. The role provides engineering expertise to ensure projects comply with Australian Standards, authority requirements, engineering specifications and safety legislation while supporting project delivery across Victoria and New South Wales.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design and oversee civil infrastructure projects including stormwater drainage systems, sewer reticulation networks, water supply infrastructure and associated pipeline works.
- Prepare engineering designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
- Design and assess roof drainage systems, box gutters, overflow provisions and rainwater management systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
- Review hydraulic designs and determine system capacities for water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure.
- Conduct engineering assessments of existing infrastructure and provide recommendations for upgrades, rehabilitation or replacement works.
- Undertake site investigations and analyse project requirements, ground conditions and engineering constraints.
- Liaise with councils, developers, builders, hydraulic consultants, surveyors and regulatory authorities regarding approvals and compliance requirements.
- Determine construction methods, materials, quality standards and project specifications.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved engineering designs and Australian Standards.
- Inspect civil, hydraulic and roofing infrastructure works and prepare engineering compliance reports.
- Investigate engineering failures, drainage issues, water ingress issues and infrastructure defects and provide technical solutions.
- Prepare project budgets, engineering estimates and construction schedules.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders during project delivery.
- Assess environmental and operational risks associated with civil infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical guidance to project managers, supervisors and site personnel.
- Assist with the delivery of commercial roofing, stormwater and hydraulic infrastructure projects across Victoria and New South Wales.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum two years relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in stormwater, sewer, water supply or hydraulic infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards, NCC requirements and local authority specifications.
- Ability to prepare engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation.
- Current Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout Victoria and Southern NSW.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $72,712.89 – $110,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Shepparton VIC
