About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and strategic Manager, Risk & Assurance to lead HOPE's risk, compliance, quality and governance functions. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer, you'll play a critical role in strengthening organisational resilience, driving continuous improvement and ensuring HOPE maintains the highest standards of accountability and service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

Design, implement, and continuously improve the organisational Enterprise Risk Management and Quality frameworks.

Provide high-level advice on alignment with strategic goals and provide the CCSO and Executive (through the CCSO) with clear insights into HOPE’s "risk appetite”.

Support and coordinate the identification and assessment of risks and formulate robust controls, response strategies, and processes in consultation with responsible leaders to mitigate identified risks.

Ensure adherence to legislative requirements, regulatory reforms, accreditation standards, and internal governance.

Oversee privacy governance, including information handling and disclosure obligations.

Support the CCSO to present high-quality, actionable reports to the Executive and Risk Committee of the Board.

Monitor the internal and external environment for emerging risks and legislative changes, providing timely recommendations to strengthen organizational resilience.

Leads the Risk & Assurance Team to support best practice governance frameworks, enterprise risk management, compliance and quality frameworks and practices.

Adopt a business-partnering approach that supports HOPE’s effectiveness, ensuring risk, compliance, and quality initiatives are seamlessly integrated into daily operations.

You'll Need
We're looking for a strategic thinker and trusted advisor who can balance big-picture thinking with practical implementation.
Essential
-
Tertiary qualifications in law, business, science or a related discipline
-
Minimum five years' experience leading risk, compliance, governance, assurance and quality functions
-
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise risk management frameworks
-
Experience in accreditation, quality systems and continuous improvement within health, community services or a similar sector
-
Experience developing and testing business continuity and crisis management plans
-
Strong leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and develop teams
-
Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
-
The ability to translate complex risk information into meaningful insights and reporting for Executive and Board audiences
Highly Regarded

Experience managing insurance programs and portfolios
-
Professional certifications or memberships in governance, risk, compliance or assurance disciplines
-
Experience working within the community services, health or not-for-profit sectors
Pre-employment Requirements
