Due to internal promotions, opportunities exist for diligent and safety focused Services Operators to join the team at our Railton Site in beautiful pristine Tasmania. An integrated member of the services team, our operators supply materials for cement production onto and within the site. This is an excellent opportunity for persons looking for future progression into Process Operator roles and similar.
Your Opportunity
As a Services Operator at our Railton site, you will:
- Provide general site, equipment, and daily clean up duties (eg: Material spills from Clinker, Meal, Cement, Coal, Crushed Limestone and Clay) using brooms, shovels, scrapers, and the use of pneumatic or electric jack hammers)
- Operate mobile equipment: Tip Truck, Loader, Forklift, Sweeper, Elevated work platform
- Perform equipment monitoring (pre-start checks & filling out log books)
- Clinker covering
- Bagging shed operation
- Relief Devonport silos operator (4 x 12 shift roster) unloading cement trains and loading ships.
- Relief Process Operator (4 x 12 shift roster) consisting of two 12-hour night shifts and two 12-hour day shifts followed by a four-day break.
The role is permanent full time, operating on day-shift (Monday – Friday, 7.00am to 3.30pm), with overtime opportunities as required.
What You'll Bring
To be considered for the position you will have:
- You have previous experience in a similar heavy industry, construction, or mining environment
- Previous machine operating experience – Front end loader, forklift, (desirable)
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- A strong work ethic
- The ability to contribute to a positive team environment
- A strong focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to undertake occasional physically demanding aspects of the role
- Be willing and have an ambition to work shift work (4x12 roster) when required
Additional desirable attributes include:
- Previous machine operating experience – Front end loader and/or forklift
- Licences - Elevated work platform, confined space, heavy rigid vehicle
